Mental Health Services for Kids, Their Parents, and Adults

Helping children, teens, and families in Decatur, Illinois

est. 2016

Welcome to Kaloupek Counseling! We offer counseling services Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in downtown Decatur. We are closed on Mondays, Fridays, and weekends.

We aim to provide quality outpatient mental health services in a safe, comfortable environment. We understand that many children & adults have anxiety about seeing a therapist, so we created a relaxing space for both adult and child clients. By applying the latest research, we offer play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, sand tray therapy, and many other traditional therapy techniques to give our clients the best care possible.

Heather Kaloupek, M.S.W, L.C.S.W

Originally from the Illinois & Iowa border, Heather Kaloupek brings a bit of Midwestern common sense to her practice with children and adults. She first moved to Decatur to attend Millikin University where she received her undergraduate degree in Human Services in 2006. Immediately after graduation, Heather went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Social Work from Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Before opening Kaloupek Counseling in 2016, she spent seven years providing therapy to patients in psychiatric residential treatment, community mental health, private practice, and several schools across Illinois and Iowa.

She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers & the Association for Play Therapy. She regularly provides workshops for her local community on positive parenting, child development, various therapy approaches, women’s leadership, and christianity. When not striving to serve her clients, Heather’s hobbies are sipping coffee, writing for her blog, singing, and reading. She lives with her husband and three little boys in Decatur.
